Preperation

So tomorrow I have a photoshoot with a little boy down at the local park, so in preparation I have been doing some research.

The photographer I want to mention today is Rachel Rose Photography, in particular her Autumn shoot. Rachel seems to be able to give a very elegant, soft approach to some beautiful portraiture. This series shows a great bond and connection between two sisters, Rachel keeps her distance for many shots allowing the children to interact with eachother. Some images appear posed, but many suggest the natural love between siblings.

Rachel is a natural light photographer and makes good use of her natural surroundings to take various portraiture shoots. Like Rachel I will be using natural light and my Nikon D5100 to photograph the portrait session tomorrow. I will also use a local park as a backdrop for my images, using the trees, lake and park play area to add to my images. I will take my 50mm lens and my 55-200mm lens to give me great flexibility with my photographs but also to keep images crisp and soft.
